Cost Inclusions

We offer two types of excursions: fully inclusive Premium, and simpler Basic.  The fully inclusive packages contain accommodation, food, multiple guides, porters, domestic transfers, local tours/excursions, extra trekking days, as well as a series of educational lectures and workshops which serve to enhance your experience in the Nepal Himalaya.

The Basic packages are designed for the more independent travellers who may wish to not participate in a group activity and want to preserve a modicum of independence in planning.  Those excursions include a guide, one porter for each 2 trekkers, permits and domestic transfers.  Accommodation and food are to be paid by the trekkers themselves on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Basic Itineraries

Note about the Basic Itineraries:  Due to the fact that these itineraries are not scheduled in advance, but rather depend on your planning, please keep in mind that while trekking is entirely possible during Summer (June-September) as well as Winter (December-February), the weather may be less than perfect, notably, rainy days are common in the Summer while the cold may be pervasive in Winter. Please keep that in mind when planning, and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.

Information About Visas and Permits

You will need a Nepal visa application form for entry to Nepal; a copy will be sent to you with your Travel Pack, one month prior to your departure. You will complete the form and have it on hand with you when you arrive in Nepal; you will need to bring four current passport photos with you. A Nepal visa is issued at the Kathmandu airport immigration area, and is valid for a 30-day period.

(Visa cost: US$40)

All trekkers in the Everest Region are required to register under the Nepal Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS). A TIMS permit card will issued to you in Kathmandu prior to departure to Everest.

[NOTE:  All guests are strongly advised to have travel insurance which covers trekking as well as helicopter evacuation. While this is an unlikely scenario as our trekking itineraries are very conservative and everyone gets plenty of time for proper rest and acclimatization, it is a sensible idea to have a helicopter option in case of some unforeseen illness or injury.]
